"As God's chosen one, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience...forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.  Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds every thing together in perfect harmony."
Colossians 3: 12-14

Imagine a world in which the truest imitation of Jesus' care of people was within all people of the world...Imagine a world where all people strived to imitate Christ's example of "compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience" to best of their ability.  The ministry of pastoral care is concerned with acting out the  Christ-like compassion that fosters within us all by the very nature of our faith in Jesus.  This ministry, by its very nature, is about building and maintaining good, positive relationships...within our families, with our
friends, and within our communities.

"Pastoral care is most fundamentally a relationship - a ministry of compassionate presence.
Pastoral care enables healing and growth to take place within individuals and their relationships.
It nurtures growth toward wholeness, and it provides guidance in decision making and
challenges obstacles to positive development." {Renewing the Vision, page 42)

St. Fransis of Assisi said it right when he said that "Peace begins with me."  But it's important that you understand that you are not alone in this stance!  CHRISTeens youth ministry says that "Peace begins with US!"  Your youth ministry program is committed to promoting the development of life skills that strengthen our faith, our families, our peer networks, and ourselves.
