"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the greatest and first commandment.  And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Matthew 22: 36-39

The ministry of community life is mostly concerned with who we are individually and as a Christian body.  Our actions (what we do because of who we are) then surely follow.  Compassion, generosity, tolerance, peace, forgiveness, acceptance, and love...all are true gospel values taught and exemplified by Christ.  We know this.  But are these values lived out in our interactions with our peers? with our parents/siblings?  To be Christian in and of itself means to be "Christ-like."  You see, Christianity is a way of life!  We are called as disciples of Christ to strive to love, to support, and to nurture one another.  Christ called us to live this way when he
commanded us to "love your neighbor as yourself."  CHRISTeens youth ministry provides
real-life activities and a community designed to enhance those gospel values within our
friendships, family relationships, communication, decision-making skills, and faith sharing.

God has given you, YES YOU, very unique gifts and talents.  You have a youth ministry program...and a youth minister...that appreciates that uniqueness!  You are a much needed part of this community of faith!

Reflection: How is the scripture above a part of you?  How can this scripture become a part of the example you give to others?
