Catechesis, in a youth ministry sense, has to do with fostering growth in one another so that we might all develop, understand, and live more faithfully together as ONE BODY.  Have you ever heard of the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child?"  Well, the saying is true when we think about developing our own faith in Christ.  We all...as ONE BODY...need each other to grow and to live genuinely as disciples of Christ.

Being an adolescent isn't an excuse for not entering into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ...we don't get a "I'll get to know more about Jesus when I am older" pass & go card (life isn't monopoly!!!).  During our adolescent years we experience some of our most difficult struggles in life as we face the many changes and challenges that adolescent life has to offer.  In fact, these years are the cornerstone, the foundation, to the quality of life we will experience as adults.

CHRISTeens youth ministry provides you a place where the true experiences of life are brought to the table and shared in a dialogue among those facing many of the same issues and opportunities.  This is the time, this is the place...you bring them to the table.  Scripture says, in 2 Timothy 3: 16-17 and in Matthew 7: 7-8, that youth can ask hard questions and find real answers about faith...and life.  Catechesis in youth ministry provides real-life applications of learning more about the wisdom and truth shared with and in us through Christ.
